Although completion of the new Main Street Bridge is still almost a year away, the contractor is already building surfaces for a new bike path that will allow access from the existing path along Alum Creek to connect to the sidewalk.
A second bike path is planned beneath the bridge to connect to a new section of path that will lead to Heritage Park and the trail that connects to the northern end of the city.
The dirt being used for the new path came from clearing away the existing road grade for new construction.
