Concrete Pump Controls

Concrete pump wireless control unit

by Gary Gardiner on September 23, 2010

The wireless control module for the concrete pump hangs around the neck of the operator as he waits for a concrete truck to arrive at the Main Street Bridge construction site.

Precise positioning of the boom arm and the flow of concrete are controlled by joysticks and switches similar to both video games and helicopter controls. The pump delivered 65 yards of concrete into the coffer dam for the first section of the support pile for the new bridge.
