The dessicated remains of a spider hangs from the distorted threads of its web still attached to the handrail of the Main Street Bridge in Westerville.
This is the final weekend for the bridge built in 1894 on the stone abutments that being used by the current bridge built in 1969.
The new bridge will have 9’6” sidewalks on both sides and have a barrier separate traffic from the pedestrians. Currently, over 10,000 vehicles use the bridge on a daily basis. Plans are to have the bridge completed before classes begin in the Fall of 2011 at Otterbein.
