Construction began on the Main Street Bridge over Alum Creek although its progress is measured in paint colors not heavy construction equipment. Workers have erected temporary utility poles for electrical and city wiring during the construction. Surveyors have marked the location of underground utilities, telephone and data cables, and gas lines to be watched as the roadway is scraped for resurfacing.
Among the markings are the details on which trees need to be removed for the widened roadway approaching the bridge.Among the marked trees are these five pines in front of the Senior Center.
