More sections of the concrete surface of the Main Street Bridge are removed Wednesday. A worker gives signals to loader operators as they work in tandem to move a slab to the causeway for demolition.

Very cool. I was there myself this morning just after 8:00 am and they weren’t doing neat stuff like this yet. I’ll post a few pics in a few moments …
G,
It takes a little while for them to get in the proper situation to move the slabs. They are using both ends of the bridge to drop slabs but must wait until the slabs are cut into smaller sections for movement to recycler. It takes a while for the jackhammer and the welders to finish the chopping. Then they have to be cleared for the next set of slabs.
Construction foreman says it’s typical to move only several slabs a day off the site. Keep going back.
